Troll Squad turns the troll platformer into a team game. Nobody can finish alone: the whole squad has to reach the TEAM EXIT together before the timer runs out. Relay doors only open while someone stands on a plate, so one friend holds the door and the next one holds it from the other side. Heavy doors need two plates pressed at the same time. Walls are too tall to jump, so one player stands still while another jumps on their head, climbs up and pulls a lever that drops a ladder for everyone else. Lever bridges stay out for a few seconds, and the shared key has to be carried to the exit. The level is still a troll, though: a plate that says it is nice throws you back, a door slams on whoever is last, a no-hugging zone pokes friends apart, floors are fake and crushers drop from the sky. The friendship spring launches everyone except the player who stepped on it. There are 300 different levels with six themes, three levels per match and team checkpoints, and nobody is ever stranded: a player left alone behind a door gets a short grace window. Play with friends in a private room, or fill empty seats with computer players who really help.
How to play Troll Squad on Xons Play
Move with the left and right buttons, the arrow keys or A and D.
Jump with the jump button, Space, W or Up. You can stand on teammates' heads.
Stand on a plate to hold a door open. Heavy doors need two plates at once.
Walk into a lever to pull it. A ladder lever drops a ladder, a bridge lever lowers a bridge for a few seconds.
Hold right next to a lowered ladder to climb it.
The level is cleared when the whole squad stands at the TEAM EXIT. If there is a key, someone must bring it first.
Tips & strategy
Agree who holds the door before anyone runs through.
At a tall wall, the player in front stands still as the step and the others jump on their head.
Whoever climbs first should pull the ladder lever straight away.
Do not trust plates that look friendly, and do not cross a no-hugging zone side by side.
Carry the key carefully: if the carrier dies, it drops at the last team checkpoint.

Why people love Troll Squad
Action games make your heart beat faster. Troll Squad throws something new at you every few seconds, and getting through a tough moment feels genuinely exciting. Failing is quick and restarting is instant, so the game keeps you in the flow. Over time you notice yourself reacting faster and reading situations earlier, which is a satisfying kind of progress that you can feel in your hands.
The objective
Get every member of the squad to the TEAM EXIT before the timer runs out. If the level has a key, someone has to pick it up and carry it to the exit first. A match is three levels in a row, and the squad wins together by clearing all three.
Background: where Troll Squad comes from
Troll Squad is an original Xons Play game and the co-op sibling of Troll Party. Troll Party asks who reaches the exit first; Troll Squad asks whether the whole team can get there at all. We kept the troll platformer idea, where the level lies to you with fake floors, hidden spikes and falling crushers, and added puzzles that cannot be solved alone: doors that need someone standing on a plate, walls too tall to jump without a friend to stand on, bridges that a lever only holds out for a few seconds, and a single key the team must carry to the exit.

Your first game of Troll Squad
Choose one of the three buttons under the title. Play vs Computer is the quickest way to learn, Play with Friends creates a private room you can share, and Quick Match finds other players online.
Step 1. Move with the left and right buttons, the arrow keys or A and D. Take your time on the first attempt and get a feel for how the game responds.
Step 2. Jump with the jump button, Space, W or Up. You can stand on teammates' heads.
Step 3. Stand on a plate to hold a door open. Heavy doors need two plates at once.
Step 4. Walk into a lever to pull it. A ladder lever drops a ladder, a bridge lever lowers a bridge for a few seconds.
Step 5. Hold right next to a lowered ladder to climb it.
Step 6. The level is cleared when the whole squad stands at the TEAM EXIT. If there is a key, someone must bring it first. That is the whole loop. Every game of Troll Squad follows this pattern, with new situations each time.
On a keyboard you can use Left and Right arrows or A and D to run, Space, W or Up to jump, hold for a higher jump, Hold Right next to a lowered ladder to climb the ladder, Walk into a lever to pull it. Remember the objective: Get every member of the squad to the TEAM EXIT before the timer runs out. Once that is clear, every decision becomes easier, because you can ask whether a move brings you closer to it.
Troll Squad strategy
Agree on roles at every door
A relay door has a plate on each side. One player stands on the near plate, the others run through, and the first player through steps on the far plate so the last one can follow. Saying "I hold" in the chat before anyone moves saves a lot of running back and forth.
Build a human staircase
At a tall wall, the player at the front stands still right next to the wall. The next player jumps onto their head and jumps again to reach the top. The climber then walks to the lever at the top, which drops a ladder for everybody else, including the player who was the step.
Time the lever bridges
A bridge lever lowers the bridge for about six and a half seconds, and a bar under the bridge shows how long is left. Pull it when the whole squad is ready, not when you arrive alone. A player on the far side can pull the second lever to bring it back for stragglers.
Two plates, one door
Heavy doors need two plates pressed at the same moment and then stay open for a few seconds. Two players hold the plates while the rest walk to the door, then the holders sprint through together. If only one player is still behind, a single plate is enough, so nobody is ever trapped.
Carry the key with care
The key is the most valuable thing in the level. Let your safest player carry it and keep them away from trap zones. If the carrier dies, the key drops at the last team checkpoint, not back at the start.
Read the signs, then do the opposite
Signs are written by trolls. A plate that says it is nice throws you backwards, and the friendship spring launches everyone except the player who stepped on it. Treat every friendly message as a warning.
A closer look at Troll Squad
What makes Troll Squad different from most platformers is that the hardest part is not jumping, it is talking. Every obstacle is easy for a group that knows who does what and almost impossible for a group where everyone runs at once. That is why the game rewards small habits: one player always holds, one player always climbs first, and the key carrier always walks at the back. The trolls are designed to break those habits. A slamming door shuts in the face of whoever is last, a grumpy plate looks exactly like a door plate, and the friendship spring sends your friends flying just as they reach a ledge. Playing with computer teammates is a good way to learn the patterns, because the bots hold doors, stand still as a step and pull levers the way a good human team would. Once the patterns click, invite friends and try to clear three levels without a single death.
Common mistakes and how to fix them
Everyone running through an open door at once
If nobody stays on the far plate, the last player is stuck on the wrong side. Leave one person behind on each plate until everybody has passed.
Hugging in the no-hugging zone
Red dashed zones poke apart any two players who stand close together. Cross them one at a time.
Walking under crushers in a line
A crusher drops when the first player walks under it. Let the leader trigger it and wait for it to lift before the rest go.
Leaving the step behind
The player who was the step cannot climb without the ladder. Always pull the ladder lever as soon as you reach the top.
Forgetting the timer
Each level has a shared timer of three and a half minutes. When it turns red under thirty seconds, stop exploring and head for the exit.
Levels, difficulty and progression
There are 300 different levels and every match plays three of them in a row, starting at a random level. Early levels teach one idea at a time: relay doors and tall walls. Heavy doors arrive around level 4, lever bridges and hidden spikes around level 7, grumpy plates and slamming doors from level 10, and no-hugging zones, fake floors, crushers and the friendship spring after that. The longest levels chain up to twelve obstacles with team checkpoint flags every three pieces. We rate Troll Squad as medium (3 out of 5), with a typical session of 10 to 15 minutes.
What Troll Squad trains
Troll Squad is an action game that rewards teamwork, communication, timing. Things happen quickly, and the best players stay calm while reacting. Each attempt of 10 to 15 minutes teaches you more about the patterns and timing the game uses, so failing is part of learning. Action games have been shown in studies to improve attention and the ability to track several moving objects at once, and they are simply exciting to play.
How to practise and improve
Practise Troll Squad in short bursts. Focus on one section that keeps beating you and try it until it feels easy. Use small inputs, look ahead and keep calm. Your progress is saved on your device, so you can always come back later with fresh reflexes.
Playing on phone, tablet and computer
Troll Squad runs directly in your web browser on phones, tablets, laptops and desktop computers. There is nothing to install and no account needed. On a phone, the game adapts its controls to touch, with large buttons and swipe gestures sized for thumbs. On a computer, you can use the mouse and keyboard, which many players find more precise. Tablets give you the best of both: a big screen with touch controls. For the smoothest experience, close other heavy tabs, keep your browser up to date, and use the fullscreen button in the game bar. If you play on a phone with a small screen, turning it sideways usually gives you a wider view. The game saves your progress and best scores in your browser, so playing on the same device keeps your records.
Playing with friends online
Troll Squad is built for playing together. Choose Play with Friends to create a private room, then share the link or six-letter room code by message. Each friend opens the link on their own device and joins your table, wherever they are. If someone cannot make it, add computer players to fill the empty seats. Quick Match puts you with other players online for a fast game. Chat is available during the match, and if your connection drops, re-opening the page reconnects you to your seat. This makes Troll Squad a great choice for online game nights, family calls and classrooms.
Goals for every level of player
Beginner
Learn the controls and the objective, and finish a full game of Troll Squad without rushing. Agree who holds the door before anyone runs through. Do not worry about winning yet; focus on understanding why things happen.
Intermediate
Start using the first two strategy ideas on this page: agree on roles at every door and build a human staircase. Try to avoid the common mistakes listed above, and notice when you make them.
Advanced
Combine every idea: time the lever bridges and two plates, one door. Beat the computer consistently, then take on friends who know the game well, and think a step further ahead than your opponent.
Accessibility and comfort settings
Troll Squad is designed to be comfortable for as many people as possible. Every button is large enough for touch, text uses high-contrast colours on a dark background, and important information is shown with both colour and shape or text, so the game stays readable for players with colour vision differences. Sound can be switched off with the speaker button at any time, and no part of the game depends on hearing. The fullscreen button removes distractions and makes everything larger on small screens. If you prefer playing with one hand, the touch controls work with a single thumb, and most actions can also be done with a mouse or keyboard alone.
Tracking your progress
Wins in Troll Squad count towards the Xons Play leaderboard, which lists the top players across all games. Every match you finish against human or computer opponents is recorded with your nickname. Use the same nickname each time so your wins add up. The leaderboard page shows totals, so it is a fun way to compare with friends who also play.

Fair play and healthy habits
We want Troll Squad to be a friendly place to play. Be kind in chat, accept wins and losses gracefully, and remember that there is a real person behind every seat in online games. Take regular breaks, especially during long sessions: rest your eyes for a minute every half hour and stretch your hands. Parents can play alongside younger children to explain the rules and keep sessions to a sensible length. Xons Play does not sell in-game items or loot boxes, so every player has the same chance and nothing can be bought to win. If you ever see behaviour that spoils the game for others, contact us through the Contact page.
