About Carrom online
Carrom is a tabletop "finger billiards" game hugely popular in India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and the Middle East. On Xons Play the board, coins and striker are modelled in 3D and every shot is simulated by a precise physics engine on our server, so both players see exactly the same result. Play a friend in a private room, match with someone online, or sharpen your aim against the computer.
How to play Carrom on Xons Play
- Slide the striker along your baseline by dragging the slider (or dragging on the baseline).
- Press on the striker and pull back, like a slingshot, to aim. The further you pull, the harder the shot.
- Release to shoot. Pocket a coin of your colour to shoot again.
- White plays first. Pocket all nine of your coins to win.
Carrom rules
- Your coins
- Player 1 plays White, Player 2 plays Black. Pocketing one of your own coins earns another turn.
- The Queen
- The red Queen is worth 3 points but must be "covered": after pocketing it you must pocket one of your own coins in the same or next shot, otherwise it returns to the centre.
- Fouls
- Pocketing the striker is a foul: you lose your turn and one of your pocketed coins returns to the centre.
- Opponent coins
- Coins of the opponent's colour that you pocket count for them, and your turn ends.
- Winning
- The first player to clear all of their coins wins the board.
Tips & strategy
- Gentle shots are often better than hard ones — they keep the striker out of pockets.
- Line up straight shots: striker, coin and pocket in one line.
- Go for the Queen when one of your coins sits near a pocket for an easy cover.
