About Ludo online
Ludo is one of the most loved board games in the world. It grew out of the ancient Indian game Pachisi and became a family favourite across India, the UK, Africa and the Middle East. On Xons Play you can play Ludo online with friends in real time, against smart computer opponents, or with random players through Quick Match — all in an animated 3D board that runs directly in your browser. There is nothing to install and no account to create.
How to play Ludo on Xons Play
- Click Quick Match to join players online, Play with Friends to create a private room, or Play vs Computer for a solo game.
- Share the six-letter room code or invite link with friends. The host presses Start when everyone has joined.
- On your turn press Roll (or the Space key). Highlighted tokens can move — tap one to move it.
- Get all four tokens around the board and into your home triangle before anyone else to win.
Ludo rules
- Leaving the base
- A token can only enter the track when you roll a 6. It is placed on your coloured start square.
- Bonus rolls
- Rolling a 6, capturing an opponent, or bringing a token home gives you another roll. Three sixes in a row forfeits the turn, which stops endless streaks.
- Capturing
- Landing exactly on a square occupied by an opponent sends their token back to base. Start squares and star squares are safe — nobody can be captured there.
- Home column
- After almost a full lap, your tokens turn into your coloured home column. You need an exact roll to reach the centre.
- Winning
- The first player to bring all four tokens home wins the match.
Tips & strategy
- Get at least two tokens out early so you always have a choice of moves.
- Park tokens on star squares when an opponent is within six squares behind you.
- Chasing is powerful: a token sitting one to six squares behind an opponent threatens a capture every turn.
- Do not rush one token home while others sit in base — spread your risk across the board.
