About Sneaky Crew online

Sneaky Crew is a social deduction party game for 4 to 10 players. Everyone is a fluffy crewmate doing small jobs around the map, except one or two Sneaks who secretly freeze crewmates in blocks of ice. Crew win by finishing every task or by voting out all the Sneaks. Sneaks win when they outnumber the crew or when a meltdown is not fixed in time. Find a frozen crewmate and press Report, or ring the alarm in the middle of the map, to call a meeting. Everybody discusses in the chat, then votes, and the player with the most votes is launched out of the map in a different way on each of the three maps: Orbit Station, Jungle Temple and Deep Sea Lab. Tasks are short mini-games like brewing space coffee, waking a stone idol, catching beetles or tuning a whale radio. Sneaks can slip through vents, switch off the lights so the crew can barely see, or start a meltdown that the crew must stop. Frozen players become ghosts who can still finish tasks. Play with friends in a private room or fill the room with computer players.

Why people love Sneaky Crew

Action games make your heart beat faster. Sneaky Crew throws something new at you every few seconds, and getting through a tough moment feels genuinely exciting. Failing is quick and restarting is instant, so the game keeps you in the flow. Over time you notice yourself reacting faster and reading situations earlier, which is a satisfying kind of progress that you can feel in your hands.

The objective

If you are Crew, finish all your tasks or vote out every Sneak. If you are a Sneak, freeze crewmates until the Sneaks are as many as the remaining crew, or let a meltdown run out. Every player is secretly given a role at the start of the round.

Background: where Sneaky Crew comes from

Social deduction games go back to Mafia, a party game created by Dmitry Davidoff in Moscow in 1986, and its popular cousin Werewolf. Players are secretly split into an informed minority and an uninformed majority, and the fun comes from talking, bluffing and voting. Sneaky Crew is an original Xons Play take on the idea that adds real-time movement, short task mini-games and three themed maps, so you play detective with your feet as well as your words.

Your first game of Sneaky Crew

Choose one of the three buttons under the title. Play vs Computer is the quickest way to learn, Play with Friends creates a private room you can share, and Quick Match finds other players online.

Step 1. Move with WASD or the arrow keys, or with the joystick on a phone. Take your time on the first attempt and get a feel for how the game responds.

Step 2. Walk to a yellow arrow and press Use (E) to start a task mini-game.

Step 3. Find a frozen crewmate and press Report (R), or ring the alarm in the middle to call a meeting.

Step 4. In a meeting, chat, then tap the player you think is a Sneak, or skip.

Step 5. Sneaks: Freeze (Q) crewmates who are alone, travel through vents (V) and use Sabotage.

Step 6. Crew win when all tasks are done or every Sneak is voted out. That is the whole loop. Every game of Sneaky Crew follows this pattern, with new situations each time.

On a keyboard you can use WASD or arrow keys to walk, E or Space to use a task, fix a sabotage or ring the alarm, R to report a frozen crewmate, Q to freeze (sneaks only), V to enter or leave a vent (sneaks only), M to open the map. Remember the objective: If you are Crew, finish all your tasks or vote out every Sneak. Once that is clear, every decision becomes easier, because you can ask whether a move brings you closer to it.

Sneaky Crew strategy

Travel with a buddy

Sneaks only freeze players who are alone, because a witness ruins everything. Doing tasks next to another crewmate makes you much harder to freeze and gives you an alibi when bodies are found.

Track who was where

When a meeting starts, the most useful facts are places and times: who was in which room, who walked past the area where the frozen crewmate was found, and who came from the direction of a vent. Share what you saw clearly and briefly.

Watch the task bar

The crew task bar only moves when real crew finish real tasks. If someone stands at a station for a long time and the bar does not move, or walks away from a task the moment you arrive, remember it.

As a Sneak, create chaos first

Switch the lights off before a freeze so nobody sees it, or start a meltdown to pull the crew to one place while you slip away. Fake tasks on the way and talk confidently in meetings.

A closer look at Sneaky Crew

The heart of Sneaky Crew is information. Every player knows a little: where they walked, who they passed and what they were doing when the alarm rang. The crew wins when those small pieces are put together in the meeting, and the Sneak wins by breaking the chain, either by creating doubt or by freezing the one player who saw too much. Good crewmates speak with specific details, such as I saw Blue leave Storage just before the lights went out, rather than vague feelings. Good Sneaks stay close to groups, report bodies themselves now and then, and always have a believable story about where they were.

Common mistakes and how to fix them

Voting on a hunch
Throwing out an innocent crewmate is a free win for the Sneaks. If nobody has real evidence, vote Skip.
Doing tasks alone in far rooms
Corners and dead ends are where most freezes happen. Visit them with a friend or quickly.
Forgetting ghosts can help
Frozen crewmates become ghosts who can still finish tasks. Keep going, the crew still needs you.

Levels, difficulty and progression

Each match picks one of three maps at random: Orbit Station, Jungle Temple or Deep Sea Lab. With up to six players there is one Sneak, with seven to ten there are two. Computer players do tasks, report, vote with suspicion of what they saw, and play as Sneaks too. We rate Sneaky Crew as medium (3 out of 5), with a typical session of 8 to 15 minutes.

What Sneaky Crew trains

Sneaky Crew is an action game that rewards observation, memory, persuasion. Things happen quickly, and the best players stay calm while reacting. Each attempt of 8 to 15 minutes teaches you more about the patterns and timing the game uses, so failing is part of learning. Action games have been shown in studies to improve attention and the ability to track several moving objects at once, and they are simply exciting to play.

How to practise and improve

Practise Sneaky Crew in short bursts. Focus on one section that keeps beating you and try it until it feels easy. Use small inputs, look ahead and keep calm. Your progress is saved on your device, so you can always come back later with fresh reflexes.

Playing on phone, tablet and computer

Sneaky Crew runs directly in your web browser on phones, tablets, laptops and desktop computers. There is nothing to install and no account needed. On a phone, the game adapts its controls to touch, with large buttons and swipe gestures sized for thumbs. On a computer, you can use the mouse and keyboard, which many players find more precise. Tablets give you the best of both: a big screen with touch controls. For the smoothest experience, close other heavy tabs, keep your browser up to date, and use the fullscreen button in the game bar. If you play on a phone with a small screen, turning it sideways usually gives you a wider view. The game saves your progress and best scores in your browser, so playing on the same device keeps your records.

Playing with friends online

Sneaky Crew is built for playing together. Choose Play with Friends to create a private room, then share the link or six-letter room code by message. Each friend opens the link on their own device and joins your table, wherever they are. If someone cannot make it, add computer players to fill the empty seats. Quick Match puts you with other players online for a fast game. Chat is available during the match, and if your connection drops, re-opening the page reconnects you to your seat. This makes Sneaky Crew a great choice for online game nights, family calls and classrooms.

Goals for every level of player

Beginner
Learn the controls and the objective, and finish a full game of Sneaky Crew without rushing. Stay in pairs or groups: Sneaks only freeze players who are alone. Do not worry about winning yet; focus on understanding why things happen.
Intermediate
Start using the first two strategy ideas on this page: travel with a buddy and track who was where. Try to avoid the common mistakes listed above, and notice when you make them.
Advanced
Combine every idea: watch the task bar and as a sneak, create chaos first. Beat the computer consistently, then take on friends who know the game well, and think a step further ahead than your opponent.

Accessibility and comfort settings

Sneaky Crew is designed to be comfortable for as many people as possible. Every button is large enough for touch, text uses high-contrast colours on a dark background, and important information is shown with both colour and shape or text, so the game stays readable for players with colour vision differences. Sound can be switched off with the speaker button at any time, and no part of the game depends on hearing. The fullscreen button removes distractions and makes everything larger on small screens. If you prefer playing with one hand, the touch controls work with a single thumb, and most actions can also be done with a mouse or keyboard alone.

Tracking your progress

Wins in Sneaky Crew count towards the Xons Play leaderboard, which lists the top players across all games. Every match you finish against human or computer opponents is recorded with your nickname. Use the same nickname each time so your wins add up. The leaderboard page shows totals, so it is a fun way to compare with friends who also play.
